Seriously – digital nomad?

So, here’s the thing, we actually did it. We are sitting in Germany in our house and are working from home while the kids hang with grandma and grandpa. How come? We just did it. I have always had this idea of spending some more time in Germany as I always struggled with the four weeks we usually spent here. Then, mid last year, a dear friend of mine told me about her plans to do just that, for three months.

So, off I went home and told hubby about it and the fact, that we wouldn’t consider doing something like that, especially because he wouldn’t even see it as a possibility. And guess what? – He said, why not, if we plan it right, it could be quite cool – especially for the kids,

That idea then never left my mind and towards the end of last year, hubby approached his work to ask whether three months working remotely would be a possibility. And there it was – yes we would have to work out the logistics, but generally why not.

So, what is the definition of a digital nomad? According to Wikipedia Digital nomads are a type of people who use telecommunications technologies to earn a living and, more generally, conduct their life in a nomadic manner.[1] Such workers often work remotely from foreign countries, coffee shops, public libraries, co-working spaces, or recreational vehicles.

Hm. maybe not working and living in an RV, but remotely in a foreign country? Yes, why not…
